Introduction to PHP for Os X by Example
Before we Begin
Objective
Participants will gain a broad general understanding of the capabilities of the PHP scripting language and its uses in the Os X environment.
Assumptions
In this workshop it is assumed that participants are new to PHP but not new to programming, they are comfortable with using the terminal application for interacting with their system and are basically familiar with Os X’s BSD Unix and some of what that entails (file permissions etc.). Participants will also need to be comfortable using a text-editing program to write/manipulate program code. In particular we will be using Xcode 2 in this workshop.
For expediency sake the Apache server will already be running and PHP will be installed and configured on all participants’ boxes.
